About The Director
Philanimpilo Lionel Mlawuli
Philanimpilo Lionel Mlawuli is a businessman, born and raised in Claremont township, in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), South Africa. He has over 20 years of business experience across sectors, including property development, real estate, logistics, retail, and infrastructure development. He is the Founder and Director of Impi Loy Group and Holdings, which was officially established in 2015.
His entry into the business world was through the taxi industry (his family remains influential, mainly in the South of KZN, with over 32 years of experience), where he learnt and honed his business skills and acumen. He later ventured into retail between 2013 and 2015, building several retail chains across the eThekwini region. His love for real estate, and ultimately for property development, was born during his seven-year tenure at Remax. During the same period, he opened an independent logistics firm that focused on providing trucking solutions within and between KZN and other parts of South Africa and the region.
After the COVID-19 lockdown, he officially established his own real estate company, Live Life Real Estate, focusing on land acquisition, property development, and house sales.
In 2023, the Impi Loy Group and Holdings expanded its portfolio into water and sanitation. In recent years, the Group has worked closely with municipalities and water boards to provide innovative solutions to address the mounting water challenges facing South Africa and the broader region. In 2025, the Group began expanding its services into the mining sector and locomotive supplies.
He is the co-director of Itafula Group, an innovative solutions company focused on water technology, including smart meters and artificial intelligence-modified systems. He is also a passionate philanthropist and is committed to community development. He currently serves as a board member in Black Womxn Caucus, a youth-led, intergenerational social movement advocating against gender based violence and femicide (GBVF
